Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

At Jules, privacy isn't a feature—it's the foundation of our architecture. We build tools that protect your intellectual property while giving you peace of mind.

1. Data Collection & Code Sovereignty

Jules operates on a "Zero-Retention" principle for your source code. Unlike traditional CI/CD or backup tools, we do not store, cache, or index your code on our own infrastructure.

  • Ephemeral Processing: Code is processed in memory only for the duration of the backup transfer.
  • Metadata Only: We only store metadata required for service operations (e.g., backup logs, timestamps, and account preferences).

2. Security Architecture

Your code's security is ensured through multiple layers of military-grade encryption and secure protocols:

Transit Encryption

All data moved between your repository and your backup destination is encrypted using TLS 1.3 protocols.

Access Control

We use OAuth 2.0 scoped permissions, ensuring Jules only has access to the specific folders you designate.

3. Third-Party Services: Google Drive

Jules utilizes the Google Drive API to facilitate secure storage. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Detailed Data Disclosure:

  • What data is accessed? We specifically request the drive.file scope. This allows Jules to only see, edit, and delete files that were created by the Jules plugin itself. We do not have access to your other photos, documents, or files on Google Drive.
  • How is it used? The data accessed is strictly limited to your project backup archives. It is used to sync your local Android Studio projects with your private cloud storage for disaster recovery and multi-device synchronization.
  • How is it stored & protected? Your data is encrypted locally with AES-256 before upload. In transit, it is protected by TLS 1.3. Once on Google Drive, it resides in your private account, protected by Google's world-class security infrastructure. Jules servers never see your unencrypted code.
  • Revoking Access: You can revoke Jules' access to your Google Account at any time through the Google Security Settings page.
